‘Wat als?’ book tells the story of our COVID-modelling efforts

‘Wat als?’ book tells the story of our COVID-modelling efforts

When the corona virus spread across the globe in early 2020, everyone was looking for answers. Would it hit in our country too? Will our hospitals be able to cope? When will the case number peak?

With an entire team, we worked day and night. Our models and results were meant to inform policy, but they were also questioned and criticized regularly.

Amid the crisis, it was sometimes difficult to provide nuance and context, but we make up for that now. In ‘What als?’, we compile the experiences and results of a large group of colleagues on how we used our knowledge to map the spread of the coronavirus in Belgium.

What went well? What didn’t And what have we learned with an eye on the next epidemic?

We welcome you at the book launch taking place on November 9th in Hasselt. All information via www.watalsboek.be
