Positions are available immediately for two postdoctoral fellows at the Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, supervised by Professor Marc Lipsitch.
For Position 1, the primary responsibility will be to devise methodological approaches for incorporating pathogen genome sequence data, which probabilistically indicates sources of infection, into the estimation of vaccine efficacy in clinical trials, both individually randomized and cluster-randomized. This project will be collaborative with Dr. William Hanage. https://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/8296
For Position 2, a range of project areas are possible, including areas of current emphasis in the group such as antimicrobial resistance (especially as it relates to vaccines), design of randomized or nonrandomized studies of vaccine effectiveness, or transmission dynamics of multistrain pathogens. For this position, background is more flexible. If applying for this position, please include in your application a suggestion of a topic or project you would like to pursue within these or related areas. https://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/8298
